News roundup
Did you know that the boss was retiring after this season?
It’s sad but true. After 30 years of professional play, Fernando Belasteguin is…retiring.
A few stats for the curious:
he has played in 286 finals, winning 230 of them
he has been ranked number 1 for 16 years
this month, he is turning 45 and ranked number 18
But that’s not before he releases the new BELA line with Wilson, check out my review of the Bela Pro and the Bela LT V2.5 below.
Custom padel racket weight
Did you know that Total Padel provides a weighing service? The weight variance of Starvies has always been a problem for me, but for €10 Total Padel will send you a racket with your desired weight. I tried this out for a racket I’m currently reviewing, and they were right on the money at 365g!
The best padel balls according to science
Are in fact the Dunlops. The Testea lab in Valencia has expanded to testing balls and shoes this year and they just released their results.

According to the test, most balls do not meet FIP requirements regarding bounce and hardness.
Now it’s time for me to pick up some Dunlop Pros!
