👀 Is padel everywhere now?

Everywhere I turn now, I see references to padel.

Like the following response to padel being a dealbreaker in Love in Blind: Sweden.

This feels quite strange to someone who has been playing for years in what feels like a black hole. I’m sure it must be even stranger for those of you who have been playing since childhood.

In my home of Berlin, I used to play exclusively with Spaniards and Latin Americans. So much so that while my Spanish is very bad, I have a tendency to call out the score in Spanish. But today, there is an increasingly solid group of German players available.

A German influencer recently posted a TikTok, saying, “we’re yuppies, we don’t go to the gym, we go to padel on Wednesdays and Pilates on Sundays.”

And an American influencer, litquidity, who normally posts investment banking memes, frequently posts about padel now.

In general, I’m very excited about this growth and internationalization of media about the sport, but I do have concerns about Sweden’s padel bubble taking place elsewhere.
